Do you ever question the purpose of your existence?
Do you ever wonder what you are made for, and why you are here? Jesus Christ
gave us the key to life through this verse.
This verse is from Mark 12:29-30
"Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength."
If you've attended church for awhile, then this verse should sound quite familiar. This verse is nothing that we haven't heard- we have heard it over and over and over again- from vacation bible school, to church on Sunday morning. The problem with hearing it though, is not putting it into practice and believing it. This is the reason why we don't obey it. We (Christians) say that we love God so much, but do we love him with our heart, soul, mind, and strength? Again, He gave us a command to follow.
We don't need anything else in this world besides Jesus Christ. All we need is Him and Him alone. He is the only one that can completely fill us up and satisfy our needs. Sometimes (kinda off topic), I am guilty of buying books at christian book stores to help me out with different issues going on in my life. I think that these books are completely true, and they will be my healer to my problems....WRONG. Sure, they help, but these books do nothing in comparison to what Christ can do. And these books come nowhere close to the Word of God. The Word of God is God breathed. Hebrews 4:12.
We as humans don't have a handle on what we are truly designed for. Jesus commands us to love the Lord with all of yourself. We don't need anything in this world besides Him. Aren't you tired of trying to improve "you" and aren't you tired of living for yourself? I know I am... Is your soul tired?
