Perfect Love

^{Romans 8: 38-39}

 

 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

 

How AWESOME is this! I am overflowed with thankfulness because of His great love! This verse specifically points out that NOTHING in the WORLD can separate us from the love that is in Christ. His love for His people is unconditional. And as humans, it's hard for us to comprehend that. We can barely start to grasp the love that Christ has for us. It's hard for us to fully comprehend that someone that we can't see loves us soooo much.

 

 

I feel as humans, we struggle with this concept of this unconditional love that we about all the time. We see, "God loves you!" on random interstate signs and hear people tell us that God loves us, but do we really believe it? I know for the longest time, I would just shake my head and nod when someone told me that God loved me.... because I didn't understand and it was hard for me to wrap my mind around. I didn't understand what God's love was really like for the longest time. Before this past year, I viewed God as a God who was completely disappointed in me, a God who loved me only based on my performance, a God who sat up in Heaven with His arms crossed, and so much more. I had the wrong view of God for so long.  I've realized through many trials and a year of much growth, that God truly loves me. That His love is pure, never changing, never ending, and ultimately satisfying.

 

Through these "certain" trials that I had, I've realized that true love can only be found in Him. Nothing else can satisfy your soul like Christ can. You can run to different things to find satisfaction, but you will not find it... if it is not Christ. Men will not be able to satisfy you completely. Pornography will not be able to satisfy you completely. Trust me, I've tried it.

 

True love is only found in Him. His love is way different from our love and from anyone's love that is on this earth. The best part about His love for me, is that it never changes.  No matter how many times you have messed up or failed... God looks at you the same and He LOVES you. Nothing will be able to separate us from Him. NOTHING in this world. No matter how many sins you have committed or what. His love isn't based on feelings or emotions. He loves us because He is love. God sent His Son to die on the cross for us. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He sent His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."  

 

That my friends, is true love. Rest in it. Believe it. And share it.
