Finding Rest in Him

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. "For My yoke is easy, and My load is light."

Have any of you been feeling tired, restless, not having peace about something, overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted? The list can go on and on. I know I have been feeling very overwhelmed and just exhausted lately. So, I am finding a lot of comfort in this verse.

The reason why I feel so overwhelmed, is because of all the change that is happening in my life. I'm going to Africa, then coming home and leaving for college right after that... a college that is 27 hours away. So much is happening in so little time, and my head is just spinning and very restless.

But this verse really makes me think of a sweet friend, Katie Ganshert. Katie and her husband are adopting a sweet little girl from DR of Congo. Her name is Salima, and she is a precious child from the Lord.

The the reason why I think of Katie is because of the adoption process that her and Ryan  are going through. I am not sure all the details, but I do know that their are obstacles in the way of them bringing their daughter home... including her passport and exit letter.

Will you pray for Katie and her family? All they want is to bring their sweet daughter home, and obstacles just keep on getting in the way. I can just imagine all the emotions that the Ganshert's have had in this whole adoption process... and I am sure that sometimes they are just restless and yearning to hold their daughter in their arms. In all of this, we just have to remember that Gods timing is best... even when it's hard. Someday, Lord willing, Salima will be here... And I can't wait for that day. Please continue or start praying for this family that is so near and dear to my heart.

With that said, let us run to Jesus. The one who can give us the rest we need. Whatever your circumstance is, big or small,  you can find rest in Him. This world keeps spinning and our circumstances get in the way of finding true rest in Him. But let us run to Him, for we will find rest for our weary, tired, and anxious souls. Perfect rest.
