His Love

Story Time: I met two homeless men this summer before a worship night. My friend and I went up to them and started to talk to them and also, to find out their stories. We brought up how God loves them, and one of them responded, "How could they love a retard like me?" Then, this man started to cry; and crying hard. We had to keep telling him that he wasn't a retard and that God loves him no matter what he has done in his life. This man was very touched....

The purpose of this story is to talk about His love.  This man thought that because of the wrong that he did and are probably still doing, that Christ can't or won't love him. Can I just tell you that this is absolutely false?! Many of us feel like we can't go to church or go to the Father because we are so messed up. We often run away from His love. We often even run away from people that show His love. Why? Because we feel like we don't deserve it. And we don't. Yet He pours out His UNCONDITIONAL love anyways.

If we ONLY understood a fraction of what He did for us... How overwhelmed would we be?! We would be on our knees praising Him for the gift of Jesus. We don't deserve His love at all- we are sinful people. Yet, He gives it to us anyways. He sent His Son to die on the cross so that we might live in Him and get to experience His perfect love.

Do you understand the price He paid so that YOU could live?  Christ sent His Son JESUS to die on the cross for you. If you have never felt love from anyone a day in your life, take heart my friends. This is the definition of true love. Christ laying down His life for you and for me. There is NO greater love than this. Be encouraged.

I encourage you to not run away from His love but run TO Him and accept the love that He is pouring out on you.  Ya know, growing up... I never felt God's love. I always felt like He was distant. My parents weren't affectionate, I was abused, abandoned in some aspects, etc. I couldn't stand God for most of my life. "If God were a loving God, why would He put me through all of this?" I believed the lie that the abuse was my fault, that I was a sucky child, etc. It wasn't until two years ago that I started to see AND started to believe more of who God says I am in Him.

Maybe you're like me. Can I just tell you something? You are loved. Right were you are. No matter the good you have done in your life or the bad. Christ's love for you will never die or never run out.

Be encouraged my friends. Hold on to His love, because it is near.

HE LOVES YOU.
