Shattered Heart

Her heart.
Shattered and cold.
Broken and torn.
Rejected from the ones in whom she thought she could trust.

She's been misused, abused.
The sound of purity has been ripped right out of her soul.
In just moments, her innocence was taken away from her.
How dare someone steal this precious gift that God gave her.
Her purity.

She is left with wounds she never though she would have.
Brokenness. Scars. Hurt.
How she wishes she could just feel whole again.
To feel as if she wasn't just an object or someone's toy.

She chooses to fight. Everyday is a battle.
One step towards anything good sometimes feels like a thousand miles.
Will she ever find true intimacy?
Will anyone love her and desire her despite her wounds?

This girl grasps for warmth from anything and anyone close enough to touch.
However, no warmth around her will satisfy her longing to be loved.
She searches for love in all the wrong places; her soul grows weary.
All she longs for is to be unconditionally loved and cared for.
She asks herself, "Where is this unconditional and satisfying love that the church talks about?"

She just wants to feel again. Feel emotion. Raw emotion.
She wants to feel all that she has suppressed throughout years of hurt.
She wants to see that there is a God who loves her.
Is this God worth reaching out to? Does He truly love Her?

She knows the truth. But, she struggles with believing the truth.
If she would just clearly see the man right in front of her.
The man that has been waiting for her since the day she was born.
The man that will rise far above and go beyond the distance.
The man that will lovingly and gently put her shattered and broken heart back together.

This man. His name is Jesus.

If she would just let Him love her.
Let Him mold her into the daughter He wants her to be.
One day, yes one day, she will let the walls down. The cold, hardened, stone walls.
She will let Him; work in her, heal her, and transform her into who He wants her to be.

  1. He is more than enough. He loves us right where we are, just as we are. Every second, every minute, every hour of every day. He is. More than enough.
